Eligibility Requirements for the 2024-2025 Cohort
- At least five organizations will be selected. Participating organizations will receive at least $50,000 in executive transition planning and implementation funds, as well as access to transition resources, consultants, and peer group mentorship. Please note: Each participating board chair, outgoing leader and incoming leader(s) will be expected to attend regular peer group meetings and occasional full-cohort meetings. Frequency of meetings will be mutually agreed upon once the cohort has been selected.
- Eligible organizations will:
- Be based in and serving Los Angeles County
- Have paid staff (a minimum of 5 FTE staff advisable)
- Anticipating the departure of a founder or long-tenured leader (who has been with org. 7+ yrs.)
- Have already communicated their intention to transition to their board chair
- Be committed to an executive departure between April - December 2025
- Have organizational diversity, equity, inclusion goals tied directly to their transition plan
- Cohort selection will be based on a variety of factors, including demonstrated track record of some succession planning and early transition planning activities, an intention to operationalize organizational values through the transition, and transition circumstances and timeline to best optimize peer learning opportunities. Priority may be given to organizations who have not yet identified a successor.
